While we rely less on parent volunteers at the Selection Trials than at other IOCA events we still need help for the event to run smoothly, safely and fairly. There are various roles, with diferent time committments and skills, and there should be something for everyone.
Please sign up at the link below, adding your name against any vacant role and at the same time dropping a quick email with your contact details to Stephen Wright at [email protected]

The Team Selection Trials are a chance for sailors to win a place in the Worlds, Europeans Development and Irish Senior teams. Measurement at the event is accordingly strict to ensure fair racing on the water.
The schedule does not allow for time to measure equipment during the event so it is imperative sailors arrive with their paper work in order or will not be allowed to race.
Please read the measurement FAQ (
https://sites.google.com/site/iocafaq/home) specifically all your kit (sail, sail no#s, mast, boom, sprit, daggerboard, rudder, buoyancy check) needs to have a certificate and the serial no needs to be entered on the MRE in your measurement book.
Please enter your measurement details in this form by midnight on wed 27th April.
There will be an on the water Judge that will have a sharp eye open for rule breaches including Rule 42. We suggest all sailors familiarise themselves with these rules and to help this please see a link to a Briefing video from the Judge Roger Wilson along with an ISAF document "Rule 42 Most Common Breaches Optimist".
Thank you for your support, see you in Weymouth!
